The Austin APN organization would like to recognize fellow member Marylyn Kajs-Wyllie, RN, CNS who works at St. David's Medical Center as part of their Neurological team. Marylyn is a renowned speaker and will be presenting at the 43rd Annual Meeting of the American Association of Neuroscience Nurses (AANN) on March 19-22nd. With our help, Marylyn hopes that by attending she will be able to develop an evidence based protocol for the use of hypertonic saline solutions in the treatment of elevated intra-cranial pressures. In addtion, the symposium will allow her to network and share best practices as related to the care of stroke patients and offer ways on better preparing her subarachnoid hemmorhage patients about their post hospitalization recovery.

Marylyn embodies the characteristics of an APRN that will serve to advance our profession, and we on the AAPN Steering Committee are proud to offer this award to Marylyn and look forward to a presentation once she returns from the conference. Please join us in congratulating her!
