The AAPN BOD quarterly meeting took place virtually on April 15, 2020. The board of directors present at the quarterly business meeting, but due to covid19 precautions and cancelled dinner meetings, we would still like to provide you with the highlights. Please take note of our Covid19 efforts below as we would love your support and participation! 

Education Committee: Many of the dinner meetings have been postponed and/or cancelled. Virtual meetings will be posted when available, please complete all the information requested to ensure the pharmacy representatives receive what they require.

Treasury: Reimbursements had been made for AAPN hosted dinner meetings, website expenses, the cruise committee, and recent donation to Meals on wheels in response to Covid19. Current balance is $34,573.26

Membership Committee: As of April 15th there are 377 total members (43 new and 75 renewed members).

Social Media: continue to update our members with healthcare news, students post for preceptor needs, and job postings.

Preceptor Initiative: AAPN members who preceptor will receive an annual waived membership fee. No submissions were made. Please see additional incentive below due to recent Covid19.

Scholarship Committee: Ping Ye received the scholarship grant. The next deadline is October 1st.

Conference Grant/Excellence Award: none requested. The deadline for Excellence Award was April 1st. The next deadline for conference grant is July 1st, please find details and criteria on the website.

Cruise Committee: As of now the cruise is still scheduled. If plans change the committee will update the registered individuals and speakers.

Community Outreach: A request was made to join the University of Texas Medical Reserve Corps requesting volunteers and financial support to provide medical supplies. The opportunity was presented on the website and fb page.

New Business:

Covid19

  • the scholarship/conference grant committee has proposed a GoFundMe page to support AAPN members who have been affected by Covid19. The GoFundMe page went live May 5th and posted on the website. AAPN has donated $8,000 to the cause and welcome members to donate as well.
  • The AAPN would like to offer additional incentive for APRNs to precept students over the summer (or when allowed) who have had to delay their coursework due to Covid19. In support of local Austin restaurants, gift cards will be presented to preceptors on a first come first serve basis.
