TMF Health Quality Institute invites Austin APN members in primary care, especially those serving rural and underserved areas, to participate in Project ECHO and Antibiotic Stewardship.
The medical world is very complex and we all know that it takes a “village” to prevent illness and provide care. TMF focuses on improving health care systems for “villages” across the nation by engaging different stakeholders in a collaborative way. Working with Centers for Medicare and Medicaid, TMF leads the nation with its effective programs that range from preventing infections, improving medication safety, strengthening the delivery of primary care to improving behavioral health care diagnoses.
Advanced practice nurses (APNs) often care for people who have very complex health conditions and would benefit from a specialty consult. Because there are not enough available specialists, APNs often have to become “the specialist” themselves to provide the necessary care their patients need.
Project ECHO focuses on proficiency in the treatment of depression and prevention of alcohol use disorder. Project Antibiotic Stewardship assists providers in developing and/or strengthening existing antibiotic stewardship programs. TMF will provide the participating provider individualized assistance in education and adoption of evidence-based tools and resources for their clinics.
A Call for Participation is attached.
