Position Description

Pain Specialists of America (“PSA” or “Company”) is a Texas-based, multisite comprehensive pain management company that includes over 20 locations, two ASCs, and a CLIA-certified laboratory located in New Braunfels. PSA is growing rapidly. We require extremely competent, talented professionals who can support the business and help it achieve its strategic objectives. PSA is looking for a Licensed Practitioner who will be responsible for managing health problems and coordinating health care for patients in accordance with State and Federal rules and regulations and the nursing standards of care.

Essential Functions:

  • Perform physical exams and patient observations.
  • Record patient medical histories and symptoms.
  • Create patient care plans and contribute to existing plans.
  • Order, administer and analyze diagnostic tests.
  • Detect changes in a patient’s health and change treatment plans as necessary.
  • Administer medicines and treatments.
  • Evaluate responses to treatments and medications.
  • Consult with healthcare professionals.
  • Train patients and families on managing pain.

Education and Experience:

  • Master’s degree from an accredited nursing program. Must have RN licensure in Texas and be board certified by either ANCC or AANP. 
  • Prior experience working with pain management patients is preferred but is not required.
  • Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant experience and credentials (Required)
  • 2-5 yrs. of experience (Required)

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position requires long periods of sitting, with moderate standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing. The employee may be asked to lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
